We've put together some biographical notes about each of our current Board members. Click on our names below to learn about us. You'll see that although we may be a small group, we offer a mix of life experience, passions, and skills to keep the Civic moving forward. You'll also see we all share a heartfelt appreciation for our Borough, and for making a positive contribution to the lives of everyone who lives here.
We also hope you'll think about becoming a Civic Association member (it's easy: just click "Join" at the bottom of this page). We're always on the lookout for people with enthusiasm, energy, creativity, fresh ideas, and a desire to take an active part in the community, whether as potential board members or as volunteers to help out at special events. Explore this site to learn more about what we do, and join us during one of our regular board meetings (which will continue online-only for the foreseeable future -- check out our Calendar to see the full schedule of meetings for 2022) to learn how we work together.

Why Narberth?
We wanted a community with kids playing on the street and walking to school. We found that in Narberth
When Did I Join the Civic, and Why?
In 2012, at the encouragement of a neighbor. Living in Germantown in the late 1970s, I was actively involved in the local civic association and I saw how it could bring a community together. I wanted to do the same in Narberth

Why Narberth?
It feels like a European village, it has everything I need right here. It’s walkable, friendly, and an easy commute to the city
When Did I Join the Civic, and Why?
I joined in about 2011. I wanted to meet and collaborate with people who were working on environmental issues. I started out helping with the Earth Day fair andNarbEarth Day, and later with other community events. I wanted those things to continue and grow so I eventually became a board member

About Me
My Hometown
Clark, NJ
How Long in Narberth?
Since 1987, when I chose to buy here rather than Havertown or Ardmore
Why Narberth?
I’ve been able to put down roots in a wonderful community, a place where I know I’m likely to encounter friends and acquaintances whenever I walk through town
When Did I Join the Civic, and Why?
Almost 30 years ago. I’ve been on the board for much of that time, including three years as President. I’m proud of the NCA’s role in promoting open communication between borough government and engaged citizens. I especially love NarbEarth Day, our premier environmental event, which has grown in scope and seen more and more volunteer involvement over the years

Why Narberth?
“Why not Narberth?” The biggest reason I chose Narberth was walkability, but I also love the small town vibe, where neighbors and kids all know and get along and care about one another. I love the downtown the great sand park

About Me
My Hometown
Waltham, MA
How Long in Narberth?
We became Narberth homeowners twenty-one years ago, after fourteen years renting in Lower Merion and Delaware County
Why Narberth?
We house hunted in places with proximity to a walkable town center: Ardmore, Wayne, Phoenixville, etc. We came here for sidewalks!
When Did I Join Civic, and Why?
I was previously on the Civic board from 2009-2013, and now again since 2017. I joined the board as part of Maureen O’Leary’s plan to reinvigorate the NCA as a source of information and community reporting, particularly with respect to school district issues. I rejoined in 2017 primarily to become involved with the Civic’s live-streaming initiatives to make Borough council and committee meetings accessible to the public
